quiet times
about Jesus; the ultimate Priest

Day 1
Read Hebrews 5:1-4 – What is a Priest?
Do you think this is in reference to the Old Testament or New?
What hints does it give us as to why it is the Old Testament?
What is the main purpose of the Priest?
Do you think Gibbo is a Priest? Why not?
What is something that shows that the Priests of the O.T aren’t sufficient?
Pray that we may learn as we look at priests and Praise God for Jesus
and that He is our ultimate sacrifice.

Day 2
Read Leviticus 16:1-34 - The Priests role.
If you could summarize this passage into 2 sentences what would you say?
What are some of the things you noticed about what the Priest has to do?
What is the Day of Atonement? What is its purpose?
What is our reason why we don’t do this now?
Pray for the church staff Praise God that we have someone who is the
perfect sacrifice.

Day 3
Read Hebrews 7:11 & Hebrews 8:7-12 – The Priest falls short
What questions do these verses pose as to the shortcomings of the O.T priests?
What does it mean to make a new Covenant? (8:8)
What does it mean to have Gods laws on our hearts? (8:10)
Who is the person who will fulfil both these shortcomings?
Pray for guidance in our daily walk Praise God who is a God guides us.

Day 4
Read Hebrews 7:23 & Leviticus 16:11 – The mortality of the Priest
How does death pose a problem for the Old Testament priest?
What does the fact that the Priest have to sacrifice for himself first say
about his own redemption?
How does Jesus perfect both these problems?
Pray for our forgiveness as we are sinful Praise for Jesus and what
he has done for us.

Day 5
Read Leviticus 16:34& Hebrews 10:4 – Is it Everlasting?
In Leviticus, what does the fact that it has to be done every year say?
In Hebrews, why is it impossible for a bull to take away sins forever?
 (Refer to Genesis 1:27)
How does Jesus perfect both of these?
Pray as it is Easter for a focus on what Jesus has done Praise that Jesus
has dies once and for all.

Day 6
Read Hebrews 10:11-14 – Jesus as the Priest.
Look over the last couple of days. Why is Jesus the Perfect Priest?
List the difference between the Old Testament Priests and Jesus.
Try to memorise Hebrews 10:14
Pray that we may never forget Jesus Praise that Jesus died for our sins

Day 7
Read 1 Peter 1:18-19 – Jesus as the Sacrifice
What did the Old Testament sacrifice serve to do?
How is Jesus the perfect sacrifice?
What role does his death and resurrection play in the role of a sacrifice?
Pray for a friend who does not know Jesus Praise That Jesus is the ultimate
sacrifice for us.
