In May 2014, Andrew and Adele Southerton and their children Isaac, Lucy and Finn, formerly of St Lukes Miranda, moved to Wellington NZ with a vision to church plant. At their first meeting there were 9 adults and 6 kids.

Fast forward 16 months and now there is a church of over 50 people with 4 Bible Study groups, some folks have become Christians, people are heading into ministry, they are looking at putting on an apprentice and making plans to begin an evening service. God has been very faithful to his promise to draw people to himself through prayer and preaching the word.

Last Sunday (8/11) we were able to join them in the celebration of the launch of their Church, now known as City on a Hill Evangelical Church. They have moved from originally meeting in their lounge room to now meeting in a School hall. With 112 people in attendance, the hall was full. Of that number 50 are regular members of the church (2 of whom have become Christians in the last few months and 1 family that have come back to church).

Andrew stated "We feel the whole thing is a sign of God's faithfulness to the prayers and support from so many people. So thanks! We can't quite believe how things have grown when all we've tried to do is teach the Bible, love people and not be weird…"

It was wonderful to have prayed for this Church from the inception, for Andrew and Adele as they moved on from St Luke’s Miranda and to celebrate the launch in their new premises. Can I encourage you to continue your prayerful and financial support of the Southerton family and City on a Hill Evangelical Church, Wellington NZ.
