Children's Ministry

There is a great time waiting for all children at St Luke’s Miranda. In each of our groups children are encouraged to get to know and love Jesus in a place that is safe, fun and specifically designed for them. We have a number of groups which meet each week which include:

Thursdays:

Homework Club (school years K-6)

SLABS (boys in years 2-5), BATTLERS (boys in year 6)

G4J (girls in years 2-5), BATTLERETTES (girls in year 6)

Fridays:

Playtime (0-5 years old)

Sundays:

Playhouse

Crèche (0-2 years old)

Preschool (3-5 years old)

Clubhouse (school years K-2)

Treehouse (school years 3-5)

On Sunday mornings children in year 6 attend our Junior High Church service for students in years 6-9.

All of our programs come under the oversight of our Children’s Minister, Cameron Harte, and are lead by trained volunteers who have completed all the necessary Working with Children training and everyone over 18 years of age has provided the NSW Government Working with Children Number. We take the safety of the children who attend our programs very seriously and if you have any questions please contact the church office on 9540 4558.

Thursdays at St Luke's

Homework Club

Homework Club is for anyone in Kindergarten through to year 6. Each week volunteers help the kids with their homework and we have afternoon tea and play some games too.

When: Children arrive after school from 3:30pm. Homework Club finishes at 5:00pm. All children can stay for dinner at 6pm and we supervise games between 5-6pm. Children who are in years 2-6 are then welcome to stay for our Thursday night programs. (During school term).

Donation: $1/child/week.

NOTE: All children need to complete a new registration form at the beginning of each year, or when they first join Homework Club. Download a registration form for Homework Club here and bring it along with you when you come.

For more information please contact the church office on 9540 4558.

SLABS and G4J

Thursday nights are a great night for kids. SLABS and G4J are our two main Thursday night programs for children in years 2-6. SLABS is our boys group and G4J is our girls group. Both SLABS and G4J provide engaging and exciting spaces where kids can have heaps of fun, hang with their friends and make new friends. We also spend time reading the Bible and learning about Jesus.

When: Thursday nights begin at 6:00pm where we have dinner together before the night programs. At 6:30 we split off into our own groups. We finish at 8:00pm. (During school term).

Donation: $4 for dinner, no donation for the other programs.

NOTE: All children need to complete a new registration form at the beginning of each year, or when they first join SLABS, G4J. Click here to download a registration form.

Sundays at St Luke's

All of our Sunday morning programs run in conjunction with our 10:15am Family Church service at Jackson Ave and our 10:00am Family Service at Miranda North Community Church.

For more information please contact the church office on 9540 4558.

Playhouse

(Crèche) (0-2 years old)

Babies and toddlers are looked after so that parents can attend church. We also have a parenting room at the rear of the church so that parents with children who are too young to be left in crèche can sit with their children and still participate in the service.

(Preschool) (3-5 years old)

A fun preschool program with a Bible talk, songs, craft and games.

Clubhouse & Treehouse

We begin in church where we have a Kids' Talk/Spot especially for them, after which they go out to their specific programs. In Clubhouse (school years K-2) and Treehouse (school years 3-5) kids will be taught the same things as their parents in church in an age appropriate method and style. They will have lots of fun playing games, hearing form the Bible and building strong relationships with each other.

Pupil Free Day Kids Clubs

Three times a year we hold a day long kids club for any one in years K-5 at school. These take place when NSW state schools have their pupil free days. They are held on the first day of Term 2, the first day of Term 3 and the last day of Term 4. In 2015 the dates will be the 20th of April, the 13th of July and the 17th of December.

More information about each of these days will be posted on the church website closer to the event.
